Yoga with MeriSaa presents ...
The Healing Culture of Yoga is a 7-week discussion and interactive course, introducing the root of yoga to people of African descent and beyond.
It will run
Every Tuesday
From 6th October 2020 - 17th November 2020
Time: 6.30pm-8.30pm (UK Time)
This course will reveal how yoga’s original purpose is irrevocably connected to our everyday lives.
Yoga has been moulded and marketed for a white western model, and become largely a physical practice of competing to be the most flexible in body.
The Healing Culture of Yoga participants will be encouraged to discuss their own life practises and to understand how ‘yoga’ is directly linked to their personal purpose and mission on earth.
The course will
• Trace the origins of this practice to Ancient Egypt,
• Uncover how powerfully ‘yoga’ relates to each of our lives,
• Study some of the postures that are related to the Ntr and Ntrt of Kemet
• Tell the story of our creation and other Ancient stories through the depictions of the Ntr and Ntrt
• Discover how each posture connects us to ourselves,
• How and why it is vital to make ‘yoga’ part of our own life through following the principles set by the Divine World.
The Healing Culture of Yoga course has been compiled to encourage discussion through the 1-hour presentation each week.
Each session will close with a 45-minute Kemetic yoga practise.
Participants will gain direct connection between what has been shared and discussed with the benefit of how it translates to mind, body and spirit.
No prior knowledge of yoga theory or practise is necessary.
The course will be presented on the Zoom platform.
